Production Technician
WaveOptics is a world-leading designer and manufacturer of revolutionary Augmented Reality (AR) waveguides. Our waveguides have a balance of attributes that deliver a superior display to the widest range of users with a high level of comfort.
THE ROLE
Working in our NPI line, you will be responsible for the build and optical alignment of our projector and light engine builds. Reporting to the NPI Lead you will support the continued development and delivery of our technology
YOU WILL
- Take responsibility for the detailed assembly of electro-mechanical and optical components
- Take on on going training for individual products, components and processes
- Support the development of our product by giving feedback to the R&D and NPI team
- Actively arrange your day to ensure key production deadlines are met, and report to NPI Team Lead on progress
- Working in a fast paced environment you will be required to stay focused to deliver high quality products
- When possible focus on developing yourself and assisting other departments in their tasks
- You will support the development of standard operating procedures for products before transfer to mass manufacture
WHAT WE LIKE TO SEE
- Experience working within an electro-mechanical environment or at very least a manufacturing background
- Keen interest in new technology
- Organised with an attention for detail
- Positive and active personality
- Willingness to learn and develop themselves and others around them
- 5S/ Lean experience
- Willingness to travel internationally to aid with mass manufacture transfer
We’re looking for motivated and capable individuals, with a keen interest in high technology from a manufacturing / NPI background. You must be comfortable in a fast paced and pressured environment and independently focus on learning and/or assisting other departments within quieter periods.
